A Bordeaux, on cultive la diversit\u00e9 linguistique ! A l’occasion de la Journ\u00e9e
internationale de la langue maternelle, c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e chaque ann\u00e9e le 21 f\u00e9vrier, la
Ville de Bordeaux souhaite valoriser la diversit\u00e9 culturelle et linguistique<\/span><\/p>

pr\u00e9sente sur son territoire.<\/span><\/p>

Selon un rapport r\u00e9cent, pr\u00e8s de 40% de la population mondiale n’a pas acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un enseignement dans sa langue maternelle. Toutefois, il y a des progr\u00e8s dans l’enseignement multilingue, notamment pour les enfants d’\u00e2ge pr\u00e9scolaire, avec une prise de conscience croissante de son importance et un engagement accru pour son d\u00e9veloppement dans la vie publique.<\/span><\/p>

L’UNESCO encourage et promeut l’\u00e9ducation multilingue bas\u00e9e sur la langue maternelle ou la premi\u00e8re langue, qui commence par la langue que l’apprenant ma\u00eetrise le mieux, puis introduit progressivement d’autres langues. Cette approche
permet aux apprenants de mieux apprendre en comblant le foss\u00e9 entre la maison et l’\u00e9cole.<\/span><\/p>

La Journ\u00e9e internationale de la langue maternelle, c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e chaque ann\u00e9e, souligne l’impact positif des langues et du multilinguisme sur l’inclusion et l’accent mis par les objectifs de d\u00e9veloppement durable sur le fait de ne laisser personne de c\u00f4t\u00e9. Le th\u00e8me de la Journ\u00e9e internationale de la langue maternelle 2023, \u00ab L’\u00e9ducation multilingue, une n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 pour transformer l’\u00e9ducation \u00bb, s’aligne sur les recommandations formul\u00e9es lors du Sommet sur la Transformation de l’\u00e9ducation, o\u00f9 l’accent a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 mis sur l’\u00e9ducation et les langues des peuples autochtones.<\/span><\/p>

Bordeaux c\u00e9l\u00e8bre les langues maternelles et paternelles<\/span><\/p>

Du 20 au 25 f\u00e9vrier, une semaine pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer la diversit\u00e9 des langues pr\u00e9sentes sur le territoire la M\u00e9tropole de Bordeaux et la richesse qu’elles y apportent : chants, musiques, po\u00e8mes, ateliers, films et conf\u00e9rences ouvriront nos horizons linguistiques. La Ville de Bordeaux organise ainsi plusieurs animations destin\u00e9es aux enfants dans les \u00e9coles et les biblioth\u00e8ques. Un programme de rencontres et animations ouvert \u00e0 tous (consultable ci-dessous) est \u00e9galement propos\u00e9 par plusieurs de ses partenaires.<\/span><\/p>

Pour c\u00e9l\u00e9brer et partager la diversit\u00e9 linguistique de ses intervenants et utilisateurs,<\/span> l’Espace Langues de l’Universit\u00e9 de Bordeaux<\/a> met en place une s\u00e9rie d’ateliers r\u00e9serv\u00e9s aux \u00e9tudiants. Enfin,<\/span> le Carnaval des 2 rives <\/a>propose des ateliers sur le th\u00e8me du Japon tout au long du mois de f\u00e9vrier.<\/span><\/p>

L\u2019Association Bordeaux Bristol (https:\/\/www.bordeaux-bristol.fr\/<\/a>) et le Lyc\u00e9e Jean Condorcet (https:\/\/www.lcondorcetbx.fr\/<\/a>) ont rejoint le groupe en proposant ces articles mais aussi des t\u00e9moignages et actions (recettes, dictons, t\u00e9moignages vid\u00e9os… pour un \u00e9tablissement qui accueille plus de 41 nationalit\u00e9s.<\/p>

Les id\u00e9es sont l\u00e0 et vont grandir avec sa ville jumelle pour encore plus de diversit\u00e9 , de solidarit\u00e9 et d\u2019aide \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 des chances.<\/p>

MOTHER AND FATHER LANGUAGES DAYS BY ISABELLE CHANUT 17 FEB 2023<\/strong><\/p>

In Bordeaux, we cultivate linguistic diversity! On the occasion of the International Mother Language Day, celebrated every year on February 21st, the City of Bordeaux wishes to promote the cultural and linguistic diversity present on its territory.<\/p>

According to a recent report, nearly 40% of the world’s population does not have access to education in their mother tongue.<\/p>

However, there is progress in multilingual education, especially for pre-school children, with a growing awareness of its importance and an increased commitment to its development in public life. UNESCO encourages and promotes mother-tongue or first language-based multilingual education, which starts with the language the learner is most proficient in and then gradually introduces other languages. This approach enables learners to learn better by bridging the gap between home and school. International Mother Language Day, celebrated annually, highlights the positive impact of languages and multilingualism on inclusion and the emphasis of the Sustainable Development Goals on leaving no one behind. The theme of International Mother Language Day
2023, “Multilingual \u00e9ducation, a necessity for transforming \u00e9ducation”, aligns with the recommendations made at the Education Transformation Summit, where the focus was also on education and the languages of indigenous peoples. Mother-tongue-based multilingual education facilitates access and inclusion in learning for population groups that speak non-dominant languages, languages of minority groups and indigenous languages.<\/p>

Multilingualism also contributes to the development of inclusive societies that allow for the coexistence of cultures, worldviews and knowledge systems. The promotion of multilingual education is essential to ensure that all learners have access to quality \u00e9ducation and to ensure that no one is left behind in the quest for sustainable development.<\/p>

Bordeaux celebrates mother and father languages From 20 to 25 February, a week to celebrate the diversity of languages present on the territory of the Metropolis of Bordeaux and the richness they bring to it: songs, music, poems, workshops, films and conferences will open our linguistic horizons. The City of Bordeaux is organising several events for children in schools and libraries. A programme of meetings and events open to all (see below) is also offered by several of its partners.<\/p>

To celebrate and share the linguistic diversity of its speakers and users, the Espace Langues of the University of Bordeaux is organising a series of workshops reserved for students. Finally, the Carnaval des 2 rives is offering workshops on the theme of Japan throughout February.<\/p>
