Fifty British cyclists, hot and thirsty, arrived yesterday in the Place des Quinconces at half-past-five. They had cycled from BRISTOL to BORDEAUX in four days (200 km each day) as \u00a0 \u00a0part of the twinning relationship between the two cities which started in 1947. Near the fountain, they were greeted by Florence Forzy-Raffard, city councillor delegated to European \u00a0affairs and congratulated in English for their achievement and their commitment. This journey, of about 800 km, was indeed organised for a good cause. It raised money for an English charity “PROPS”, based in Bristol, which offers support to young adults with learning difficulties. Two of them cycled the course and a third helped the support team. The sponsorship of the ride raised 56000 Euros.
