How does it work?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

INFORMATION<\/strong>: The exchange is organised by the Association Bordeaux-Bristol<\/em>. It is aimed at schoolchildren between the ages of 14 and 18 (Years 9 or 10 to Year 13). Schools from Bristol and the surrounding area can take part, as can schools in Bordeaux and Aquitaine; applicants from Arcachon, Bayonne and the Landes are eligible too, hence the name of the exchange:\u00a0 Echanges Scolaires Bordeaux-Aquitaine-Bristol<\/em>. It is founded on a principle of reciprocity: you agree to host a French teenager on the same basis as the French family hosts your child.<\/p>

We will try to find the best possible match for your child – as we have been doing for over 75 years \u2013 giving equal weight to their interests, personality, family, and age. So it is important to fill in this form as <\/strong>fully<\/strong> and<\/strong> accurately<\/strong> as possible. Sections such as Interests & hobbies<\/em> and Character\/personality<\/em> are crucial<\/strong> in the final matching; it is in your interest to complete them with care, giving as much detail as possible<\/strong>. The guidelines at the end of this document may help.<\/p>

We would also like your child to attach a letter of introduction (English is fine but it can also be written in French or a bit of both) saying something about themselves, their interests, likes and dislikes and perhaps what they are hoping to get out of the exchange.<\/p>

Parents can add a comment if they wish on a separate sheet.<\/p>

N.B. Two children from the same family cannot receive exchange partners at the same time.<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There are no mixed exchanges: girls exchange with girls, boys with boys.<\/p>

\u00a0Parents on both sides are asked to provide a DBS check (= Extrait du casier judiciaire<\/em>)<\/p>
